1. How did trade begin? – As people began to settle in small communities, work became specialized. Trade began because not everyone had the same goods and they needed to exchange them for one another. For example, I have a surplus of bread and my neighbor has a surplus of goat’s milk. I would trade a loaf of bread for a bucket of milk.
