Hello 8th grade students and parents. Loyola is once again offering their FREE tutoring program for the High School Placement Exam. This year the 8th graders will attend classes on six Saturdays over the course of two months. Classes begin at 8:00 am and last until 12:30 or 12:45 pm. To register for this program you will need to commit to all six Saturdays. I will pass out the application packet on Monday, September 1. All packets need to be turned in no later than Tuesday, September 15th.

Hola estudiantes de 8 º grado y los padres. De Loyola, una vez más ofreciendo su programa de tutoría gratuito para la Alta Escuela de exámenes de colocación. Este año, el 8 º grado asistirán a clases en seis sábados en el transcurso de dos meses. Las clases comienzan a las 8:00 am y durará hasta las 12:30 o 12:45 pm. Para inscribirse en este programa tendrán que comprometerse a los seis sábados. Voy a pasar el paquete de solicitud el lunes, 1 de septiembre. Todos los paquetes deben ser entregados a más tardar el Martes, 15 de septiembre.

Saturday Family Mass
Dear Parents,
Welcome to the start of a new year. This year should be full of excitement, hard work, and lots of outside events. We are already busy with fundraisers for the 8th grade class. This Saturday our class will be hosting the Saturday family Mass and dinner. Our students will be organizing and participating in the Mass and parents will help prepare the dinner following Mass. As a result of the short week we decided to grill some hot dogs and serve several side dishes. The money we raise will go towards the 8th grade graduations fees. I will provide the hot dogs, napkins, forks, & cups and Mrs. Sic said she would provide her famous pink lemonade. I am looking for volunteers to donate hot dog buns, ketchup, mustard, relish, plates, waters, juices, sodas, and a few side dishes like potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, etc. Also we will need volunteers to grill the hot dogs and serve the food. If you could please respond to me in person, by email, or by phone I would greatly appreciate it.

School Supplies Continued
In the Sunday paper today, I saw several great buys at Target, Office Max, Office Depot, and Walgreens. Several of your supplies were under $1... Remember it is a good idea to buy two of everything while its cheaper just in case you lose or run out of anything during the middle of the year. See you on tomorrow night at the BBQ or on Tuesday!!!
